We are seeking an experienced Senior Python Developer to join our client, an AI-focused company, and build scalable, reliable backend services while contributing to system architecture and solving complex engineering challenges.

This role is ideal for a senior engineer with deep expertise in Python, backend development, and distributed systems, who is passionate about building production-grade software, making sound technical decisions, and maintaining high engineering standards throughout the software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Backend Development & System Architecture

• Design, develop, and maintain Python-based backend services and applications, ensuring scalability, reliability, performance, and maintainability.

• Contribute to system architecture and technical design decisions, balancing product requirements, infrastructure constraints, and operational needs.

• Develop APIs and backend services using FastAPI or Django, ensuring seamless integration with internal systems and external services.

• Implement asynchronous processing, real-time communication, and data streaming using technologies such as WebSockets and message brokers.

• Design and optimize data models, database interactions, and service performance to support high workloads.

Software Quality & Production Reliability

• Contribute throughout the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), from requirements analysis and technical design to development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.

• Maintain high engineering standards through code reviews, automated testing, technical documentation, and adherence to software design principles.

• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, complex production issues, and service reliability challenges while improving observability and debugging capabilities.

Technical Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

• Collaborate closely with Product, Infrastructure, and AI teams to translate requirements into robust and practical technical solutions.

• Take ownership of technical solutions throughout their lifecycle, from initial design and implementation to production deployment and ongoing maintenance.

What You Bring

• At least 5 years of professional experience in Python development, with a proven track record of building and maintaining production-grade applications and services.

• Deep knowledge of Python, object-oriented programming (OOP), software design principles, and clean, modular, maintainable code.

• Hands-on experience developing backend services and APIs using FastAPI or Django.

• Strong understanding of asynchronous programming, concurrency, and background task processing.

• Practical experience with message brokers such as RabbitMQ or Kafka and service-to-service communication patterns.

• Experience designing and optimizing SQL databases, with familiarity with NoSQL systems.

• Proficiency in Git, version control workflows, code reviews, and collaborative software development practices.

• Hands-on experience with Docker and containerized deployments, with familiarity with or practical experience in Kubernetes.

• Strong understanding of the full SDLC, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Strong problem-solving and system-design skills, including the ability to evaluate technical trade-offs and make sound decisions around scalability and reliability.

• Strong coding, code review, and debugging skills, with the engineering judgment to independently develop and troubleshoot complex solutions without relying on AI coding assistants.

• Sufficient English proficiency to understand technical documentation, write engineering documents, and communicate effectively with team members.

Nice To Have

• Experience building Generative AI applications, Large Language Model (LLM)-powered products, or Agentic AI systems.

• Familiarity with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures and frameworks or tools such as LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, or Hugging Face.

• Experience integrating AI models through APIs and building backend services around model-generated outputs.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure.

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform.
